Enbridge named to annual Canada’s Top 100 Employers list for the 15th time

Introduced across Enbridge in 2015, the Stellar program provides an all-inclusive forum for employee recognition. Available in both a peer-to-peer and leader-to-employee format, Stellar is a quick and easy way for members of Enbridge’s workforce to show their appreciation for one another.
“Stellar combines all the programs across Enbridge that previously provided cash on gift cards,” says Ryan Stelmaschuk, manager of benefits for Enbridge. “It combines recognition, service awards, wellness incentives and health-and-safety awards into one program.”
All monetary awards from the Stellar program are loaded onto individualized, Enbridge-branded, pre-paid Mastercards, “which positively promotes our brand externally,” notes Stelmaschuk.
“That said, recognition is more about the feeling of appreciation than it is about fiscal rewards—and the Stellar program is designed primarily to encourage the use of non-monetary recognition,” he says.

Today, for the 15th time, Enbridge was named among the prestigious list of Canada’s Top 100 Employers.
This annual competition, established in 2000, identifies companies with the best employment practices in the nation—evaluating them on factors such as:
- training and skills development;
- financial benefits and compensation;
- health and family-friendly benefits;
- vacation and time off;
- work atmosphere and communications; and
- community involvement.
Canada’s Top 100 Employers for 2017 were announced today with a special supplement in the Globe and Mail. The Canada’s Top 100 Employers team cited these influencing factors as part of Enbridge’s inclusion:
- Our focus on learning and development opportunities, including an in-house educational initiative that includes training in areas such as business and financial acumen, project management, personal and interpersonal excellence, leadership development, and energy-related studies;
- Our academic scholarship program for children of employees who want to pursue post-secondary studies; and
- Our retirement planning assistance, phased-in work options for those nearing retirement, and health benefits that extend to retirees with no age limit.
Enbridge transports 2.5 million barrels of crude oil and liquids a day, moves 7 billion cubic feet of natural gas a day, and generates more than 2,200 net megawatts of renewable energy.
